Phoenix Children’s Hospital is Arizona’s only children’s hospital that is ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals. Phoenix Children’s provides world-class inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency and urgent care to children and families in Arizona and throughout the Southwest. As one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country, Phoenix Children’s provides care across over 75 pediatric specialties and has 6 Centers of Excellence: The Children’s Heart Center; Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders; Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery; Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center; and Newborn Intensive Care Unit. Phoenix Children’s Hospital has continued to meet the needs of our growing community since we opened in 1983.
In 2015 Phoenix Children’s had reached several milestones in its continued growth plan in order to serve Arizona’s burgeoning patient population. This past December the hospital opened another floor in its 11-story Main Campus patient tower, adding 48 beds. When the tower opened in 2011, its top three floors were shelled and reserved for future growth, ensuring the organization was equipped to grow alongside demand for its services. Finally, before the year ended Phoenix Children’s Hospital was thrilled to break ground on a new expansion for a state of the art Emergency and Trauma Department. The expansion will include 63 exam rooms and expand emergency services capacity to 100,000 patients per year within five years.
